For this session we finished up reviewing about author’s purpose. During the first session we talked about author’s purpose, we only were able to go through two stores. For this session, we reviewed the first two stories we originally went through to serve as a review, and then we looked at the last story. After reading this story the same way we did the first two, she answered similar questions that were asked for the other stories. A difference between how the first questions were asked and the ones I asked her to answer during this session were that I asked her to write her response down for this session. For this lesson, Sophia cooperated and wrote down her responses for these questions. Sophia took her time when writing her response, which I appreciated and allowed because this showed she was putting time and effort into her work. At the end of this lesson, I asked Sophia to give a quick summary of author’s purpose using her own words and to quickly summarize the author’s purpose in each story. Some of the terms she learned were setting, character, plot, problem/conflict and solution. In the beginning of this lesson, I taught Sophia each term individually. I did this by going over the written definition with her but I also included a picture of each term on the PowerPoint as well. I would have Sophia write down the term and definition for each element in her notebook to use as a reference for when she needed to refer to these definitions later. I also did this because I wanted to include the writing aspect of this lesson in the beginning of the lesson because sometimes when asked to write towards the end of the lesson, Sophia does not want to and does not participate. When this happens I just make her tell me the answer, but knowing this I accommodated my lesson to incorporate the writing aspect towards the beginning incase that would happen towards the end of the
