In today's complex and diverse society it’s hard to difficult properly define sex. America is a melding pot containing a wide variety of people with different perceptions and values. Although we all come from different cultures, most people have a set idea of what sex is supposed to mean. In some cultures, sex is only to be used for procreation. In the Samoan culture men are taught that they are to become experienced at the art of pleasing a woman sexually, without impregnating her (Grant). Oral sex would be an example of how the man might satisfy her. The Samoan culture also believed that oral sex is in fact, sex. Although, it was not until foreigners arrived and had penetrative intercourse with women that sex was redefined as penetration. Sadly in our culture, sex is still not clearly defined. Currently, sex is a term that is used loosely, which makes it loses meaning as well as the emotion behind it. …show more content…

Sex has been happening in couples who are in earlier stages of dating, sometimes during the first meeting! Sex is still widely undefined and can happen in many different forms such as oral, vaginal, and anal. It is not until a couple has penetrative intercourse that people would call it “real” sex. For some teens, in Clinton and Lewinsky’s affair, oral sex was seen as foreplay. Clinton’s female partner did give him oral sex, but because they did not have penetrative sexual intercourse, they did not view it as “real”
