The scope of practice of a family nurse practitioner enables them the ability to serve as a primary care provider for families. This includes providing care for each member of the family individually and for the entire family collectively as a whole. Family nurse practitioners typically work in either a family practice or community health setting, where they are often responsible for the care of the entire family. Within each setting, there are numerous cultural variations that a family nurse practitioner might encounter. It is important that the family nurse practitioner is able to meet the families’ and are culturally competent when doing so.
Summary of Key Facts/Legal Issues I my project I will be evaluating the case involving a woman named Schroer who eagerly wanted to volunteer at the rape crisis center. Schroer was a man by birth but later had identified herself as a woman at the age of 29. She passed through the sexual reassignment surgery to being closer to her emotional self after the self-identification as women. She had been with a partner after the surgery but she got physically and emotionally abused by her partner.
Domestic violence and sexual assault in the Latino community is a major issue however, depictions of these issues are sometimes incomplete. The news article “Decimos No Más Encourages Healthy Communication About Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence” by Nicole Akoukou Thompson, depicts some of the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault within Latino community, specifically in the U.S. Still, these depictions are incomplete since they do not go in depth as to the main reasons behind why sexual violence and assault occurs and often accepted in the Latino community. The diagnoses include illnesses, infections, and injuries. To figure out the disease, nurse practitioners need to have the appropriate education. The education needed is a Masters, Doctoral, and First Professional degree. The skills needed are active learning, active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, and social perceptiveness. They need to be able to problem solve, give full attention to the patients, use logic to identify problems, understand paragraphs in documents, such as in test results, and to be aware of other reactions.
Nurse practitioners play an important role in healthcare in every state. However, each state has specific regulations pertaining to state regulations that guide prescriptive practice related to educational requirements, advance practice licensure requirements, and prescriptive authority (specifically controlled substances) of nurse practitioners. This paper will analyze the governing regulations of nurse practitioners in three states with full practice authority, reduced practice authority, and restricted practice authority. It will compare and contrast Washington D.C., New York, and Georgia, which have similar educational and licensure requirements, but vastly different approaches to the scope of practice in their respective states.

In studying Registered Nursing one will find that they have to be compassionate and want to care for others. Registered Nurses assist physicians with suffering patients of any medical condition. They help to decide the patient’s medicine, treatment, recovery, and educate the them and their families on post-medical treatment. They need to have bedside manner, and be able to prepare patients for surgery. Registered Nursing careers range anywhere from critical care, oncology, mental health, to an everyday school nurse.
I really enjoyed reading your post. When I was trying to decided what I wanted to go to school for I also wanted to be a trauma nurse, but I realized that was not my calling. I originally was going to school for radiology but after a semester I changed my major to criminal justice. I wanted a career that would provide excitement and something different everyday, but also allow me to help others. In society and college campuses, sexual assault occurs quite frequently. According to an estimation one third of women experience a forced sexual experience at least once in their life and most of the time it occurs in colleges. Men have also been reported to be victim of sexual assaults mostly by other men. Most of the time the sexual assault is planned and perpetrated by a third person, who is known to the victim of incident. Drug and alcohol use play role in this issue and contribute to the problem as most of the time the victim and perpetrators are under the effect of alcohol or any other drug during the incident.
The Community Health Centers HEALTHY CHILD program is devoted to childhood immunizations. Immunizations are the most cost effective prevention program and have the ability to protect from many diseases that can result in hospitalizations, healthcare provider visits, and premature deaths. This program is operated by the Community Health Center (WACHC) which provides health services to the community of Windy Apple, Washington. The HEALTHY CHILD program immunizes 4,000 children a year to protect the health of the community and to ensure that children are vaccinated for school. Large patient loads combined with a stressful work environment affects nurses’ abilities to provide quality healthcare. Patient safety should never be compromised. It is our responsibility to learn from research and improve our current nurse staffing ratios. Nurse staffing is key and affects all other outcomes. Without nurses administering the right treatment at the right time to the right patients, all other healthcare interventions are not effective.
