Twas the night after the war was won. The smell of flesh, blood, sweat, and dirt still hung in the air, but the entire kingdom was joyous. Banners hung from every wall in the dining hall, where King Richard was holding a royal feast to celebrate. Sitting at the head of the table, facing his queen, he could see how happy everybody was. People were laughing, telling stories, and no doubt sipping way to much wine. The Jester was putting on a fantastic show, juggling the sharpest of knives with ease, his face covered with a half purple, half green mask with bright red lips. The room stunk of cheese and sweat, the burning fire making the small room quite muggy and hot. He noticed Mary, who was now queen dancing with Edward, who was now ruler of the Kingdom ever since King Richard died. Her pink silk dress flowing with her movement, and there was a small rip in the shoulder. Immediately making the connection with his find back in the King’s room, he walked over and took a seat closer to the dancing couple, listening carefully to pick up their conversation. “Oh, I’m so glad that we are finally King and Queen,” said Mary. “My father was on that throne for too long.” “Yes, indeed. It’s just a pity your father went out the way he did,” replied the new King, ¨but, at least our dream of ruling together came true.” At this point, the detective had heard enough, and decided to step into their conversation. He strolled over to them, who had sat down at their table and began to eat, and took a seat next to Queen Mary. “Good evening, your highness. I know you probably don’t want to talk about it, but would you mind if I ask you a couple questions about your father’s death? I´m trying to find out who murdered him.” She immediately put on a sad face and broke into tears. “I think she needs some more time before she is ready to talk. She cared about her father very much, it has made her very sad,” said the …show more content…

He let out a volley of swear words that made all the ladies gasp. “Please excuse my manners,” he said in an embarrassed voice, quickly walking to the corner that the Queen had pointed to. He turned the corner that the Queen had seen someone disappear around, and found a small door, most likely storage for the winery. He opened it up and stepped inside, closing the door behind him. It was very dark and musty, the only light coming from a room about 50 steps down a wet set of stairs. He began to walk down, but slipped and slid halfway down, cursing all the way. Although he hit his head a couple times on the stairs, he thought he heard a faint cackle coming from the room ahead. When he managed to get up again, he walked the rest of the way very carefully. He peered around the doorway, but didn’t see anybody, just sacks of wheat and barrels of wine for the room above. He began walking around, trying to find more clues, when he heard another cackle, this time from behind
