“Obesity is a disorder involving excessive body fat that increases the risk of health problems later in life”(Bruch). Obesity usually occurs when a person's Body mass is three or greater. The main symptoms are body fat, which increases the risk of health problems. There are different things individuals should know about such as the cause of obesity, the short term, as well as the long-term of obesity.
The causes of obesity can be genetic or just a lifestyle an individual may choose. Genetics is known to play roles in obesity although, genes can directly cause obesity in disorders. Genes will not always predict one's future; however, genes and behavior both need to be present for an individual to be overweight. Obesity is also considered as a lifestyle choice; due to the fact of individuals lacking their options. An individual can choose how he or she wants to exercise, eat, or react in a certain situation. Most individuals put blame on everyone except them with being obese, it is all a mind thing.
