Lately in class, we have been reading a few articles that discuss about juveniles getting into serious crimes, and not getting charged as an adult. The articles that we read were titled, Nature vs Nurture in Psychology, Should 11-year olds be charged with adult crimes?, Juvenile Justice in the U.S., Does Treating kids like Adults Make A Difference, & lastly, 16- Year Old Got Life Without Parole for Killing Her Abusive Pimp-- Should Teens Be Condemned To Die in Jail? They all consist of real life teenagers committing serious crimes, and deciding whether or not they should charge them as an adult. One of the articles that we read was Should 11-year olds be charged with adult crimes? That article consists about an 11 year old who shot an 8-year-old with a shotgun. The reason he shot the 8-year-old was because she would not show him her puppy, and he just got the gun and shot her. …show more content…

Kids are just starting to grow up and their brain hasn't fully developed yet, brains usually develop at the age of 25, but brains work differently. Everyone has different brains, they all work differently, some adults could be 45 and still have the mind of a 10 year old, or it could be the opposite. The 11-year-old probably didn't know if the right thing to do was to shoot the girl or to do nothing, maybe he just had the urge to see the puppy. They shouldn't get charged in adult court for their serious crimes if their brain hasn't fully developed yet. Something that they should do is get punished real good for the crime that has been done, depends on what crime is. Murder is the one that people are really focused on. The reason that they don't set life on the juveniles is because they know that their brains haven't fully developed yet, they just won't make the same mistake again. Some people just don't think about what they do when they do things, that's why murder
