The right to bear arms has been a controversial issue ever since James Madison established it as the second amendment of the constitution. The second amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed” (US Const. amend. II). Those in favor of the second amendment, believe that arms are used for protection, dangerous situations, and sports.
The second amendment states “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Us americans don't need to “bear arms.” Some may say that many people use them to hunt but there are many other weapons you can use to hunt with as well as protecting yourself from danger. By having the second amendment, it gives criminals the right to go out and harm people, whether it be a family member, friend, someone you walk past. Statistics say that “The U.S. has an estimated 283 million guns in civilian hands.
In the constitution it states, that its our right to bear arms. Were allowed to keep guns in our possession for fun or just protection. 59% of homes in america have a firearm which can be stolen from other people and soon your guns will become a part of illegal gun trafficking. When gun control laws came in affect gun crime spiked to 89% or 18 million cases for gun
"Would you rather just sit there and cower underneath a desk while someone executes you and your friends or would you rather have a chance to defend your life? That's what it really boils down to," says Michael Flitcraft, a 23-year-old sophomore at the University of Cincinnati. Flitcraft has become a leading advocate and organizer for Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC), a grass-roots organization that was formed after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre that left 32 college students and professors dead (Arena). The organization now boasts a membership exceeding 42,000 college students, professors, college employees and parents who believe that holders of state-issued concealed handgun licenses should be allowed to extend those rights
The United States constitution. Is set up the way it is, so everything could run smoothly. If I had the opportunity to eliminate one amendment it would be amendment 2 right to bear arms. People may disagree and say that people should bear arms, my personal opinion I believe people should not bear any arms.first of all The only people that should be carrying guns is the law enforcement I know for a fact that the law-enforcement people are responsible and won't shoot out a concerts or a school. For example there had been many cases where someone takes serval guns and shoots people in a concert.
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of the individual to keep and bear firearms. When the Second Amendment was written it was for the right to arm oneself as a personal liberty to deter undemocratic or oppressive governing bodies from forming and to repel impending invasions. Furthermore, gun advocates proclaim that guns are for the right to self-defense. Some people try to participate and uphold the law. We have seen how guns in the hands of children can cause fatal accidents and people have committed mindless crimes leading to
Elmer Davis once said, “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” War is something that has been happening for hundreds, even thousands of years. It has been fought for many reasons. Reasons like showing dominance, conquering territory, for love, and even for reasons to simply help other countries. One question that has been brought up over time too, is the question on whether or not religious people, more specifically, Christians, should be allowed to fight in war/ take up arms.
There has been a long standing debate in America regarding open carry. Some people believe that open carry will help protect others from harm. Recently, on June 1, 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the Campus Carry Law, allowing licensed holders to carry a handgun on college and university campuses, effective next year, August 1, 2016. Gun Control laws need to be controlled, that is indeed true, proven by the 335 public shootings in the country this year alone. Open carry will not be a solution to this growing problem, it may in fact help increase its numbers.

A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
In 1789 the United States implemented the second amendment which states "a well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. " Since then many Americans have used their right to purchase and own guns. According to Pew Research Center, it is hard to get an exact number on how many Americans own a gun, there are approximately 270-310 million guns in the United States. The reason there is not an exact number on gun owners is because many gun owners are not registered.
They also do not have as many negative effects as some claim. The right to own firearms is a constitutional right that is important and needs to be upheld. Owning guns is an essential constitutional right. The right to own guns has many benefits even for those who do not own guns. The right to own guns is based in the United States Constitution.
America’s history has been involved with guns since The Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights. The Second Amendment’s purpose is to have the people’s right to keep and bear arms. Gun rights advocates do not want more burdens placed on law-abiding citizens because the criminals are the ones breaking the law and this group of people feel that these bans and other burdens are unfair to law-abiding citizens of the world. Individuals are able to acquire guns a lot easier because of the internet and because there are no background checks required online, so when people buy guns from private sellers, they can do so at a young age. Gun rights advocates argue that the right to bear arms stops criminal attacks 2.5 million times every year (Gun Violence: Opposing Viewpoints).
In America, there is crime everywhere, you can’t get away from it. When you watch the news it seems like a crime is happening every second and most of them involved a gun. The author says that people need to get a knife or a dog. At first, this line does not seem to make any sense and appears to be non – sense. But if we really think upon it, it seems to make a lot of sense, especially in the countries such as the United States of America, where there are lots of incidents such as mass shooting and revenge murders.
The biggest question remains, should civilians be allowed to carry guns. Many argue No, others yes. My opinion is that they should carry guns on them at all times. Reason being is because we might need to defend ourselves against tyranny one day. Many criminals are free on the streets and you never know when you might bump into one.
