Andrew Carnegie grew up poor, Carnegie believed he can become successful, therefore Carnegie struggled and became a multi billionaire making steel in the late 1800’s he made steel very cheap for everyone, he had done some bad things throughout his career as an entrepreneur but Carnegie brought his name back up and was looked up to, Carnegie was self motivated and hardworking. Many people consider Carnegie as a great hero and many did not see him as a hero. I believe that Andrew Carnegie was a hero because he really helped out a lot of people by just making steel cheaper, that allowed things like bridges,buildings,and railroads cheaper to build. Carnegie also gave a lot of his money to libraries and educational foundations. In a chart created by Joseph Frazier Wall in New York,1970 (Doc9) “Total giving 350,695,653 to education, such as to universities, public libraries, and Schools.” This shows that Andrew Carnegie gave 350 million to education this is a huge amount of money this most certainly shows that Carnegie was a hero. Andrew Carnegie gave his money to a lot of educational institutes, Carnegie really helped out a lot of people because just a few dollars can make a child go to school and Carnegie gave millions that means he helped out thousands of families send their kids to school also Carnagie made many public libraries across the us which help educate the uneducated that is very heroic.
