Without the ability to receive pay for playing the sport they love, many college athletes will fall short financially and their dreams will be diminished. Paying college athletes creates opportunities for the young men and women to make money by doing what they love. College athletes deserve payment because they bring in money to their university, they do not have the time for a regular job, and it would incentivize them to stay in school to get their degree.

Although the common person may think that it is just a sport, it is much more than that. The time, dedication, and sheer effort that collegiate athletes must put in would be hard for anyone to manage. When the average college student is short on money they are about to go out and get a job so they can pay for their wants and needs. College athletes are different from a regular student in this aspect because they are unable to work a normal job due to their hectic schedule. Many people may argue that by paying college athletes it will take away from the sports themselves because the athletes will be only focused on the money.
