From 1930 onwards Evolution has been the prominent science taught in public schools. Since then Creationist have been fighting tooth-and-nail to have Creationism taught as well. Thier argument: that there should be an equal representation of people’s views. Since Creationism is a theory of science, it should be taught as well, alongside the Theory of Evolution.

While I agree that supporting equal representation in schools is ideal, and an all-around great concept, I also believe in the separation of church and state. Some may argue that by claiming this and “playing this card,” one would be deny citizens of the freedom of religion. What they do not understand is that by teaching Creationism you are violating other people their freedom of religion by forcing your own. Also, if you ask for equal representation, how do you incorporate other versions of Creationism. Assuming that when Creationist speak of a theory, the majority are referring to the Judeo-Christian version of Creationism. When in fact any theory that involves a designer or designers is a version of Creationism. This includes Judeo-Christians’ belief, Greek mythology, other religions, and many mythologies and pagan beliefs. Arguing for equal representation could mean having to teaching each and every single version. We teach Greek mythology, not in science, but in History and English. The flaw in this is that Creationism fundamental are founded in religion. Because of this one cannot teach Creationism before teaching the basis, the origin story. This cannot be done without teaching religion. Teaching religion would not be a science and therefore should not be taught in a science class. Creationism is more religion than science.
