Should Government Provide A College Education Essay

Should the Government provide a college education to every high school graduate who wants it free of charge? I think they should because there are some people that want to go to college but can’t afford it, most of today's jobs are knowledge-based or either requires technical skills, and there would be a private and public benefit if there were more people that went to college. Many of America's top-performing high school students never apply to colleges and universities because even though they know they can succeed them can’t afford it because they often come from low-income households, which I find unfair that kids from lower income families don’t get the opportunity to go to college just because it is so expensive. This causes them to choose to purse more affordable, less-selective schools instead.
