In the article, “Yes, It’s Time to Scale Back” the author Amanda Ripley expresses how sports are harmful to the students and school funds. However, in the article, “No Sports Are More Important than Ever” by Tim O’ Shei discusses how school sports benefit students. The article, “10 Reasons Why High School Sports Benefit Students” by Grace Chen also backs up why school sports are important. School sports are a reason for failing grades; on the other hand, there are many positive benefits to having them in schools.

Dear Parents of Amery Middle School Students: The problem is with sports is that some people think that sports are bad for children because they get to The physical and others think that sports are a better choice than to do nothing and learn sportsmanship. If one had to choose on side for the competitive sports, it would be children should play competitive sports because sports help children make positive decisions and to help them with their health. The first reason why children should play competitive sports is that it helps them will their positive decision.
Sure kids are going to get hurt sometimes but by not letting them play sports is like taking away their freedom. This is an example of when I was younger and got hurt during a sport and they did not let me play, I was absolutely devastated. This has become a big debate around the world weather kids should be allowed to play their sports or if it is too dangerous. Some people believe that kids should drop the sports for safety reasons. However I believe these kids should participate in whichever sports they choose because
Also kids try harder in school when there playing a sport because they cant play while they are failing school so they try a lot harder in school. equally important it is good exercise for kids to play
In today 's world schools spend too much money on after school sports and might get rid of them. Although many students think getting rid of after school sport is not necessary; schools save much more money now and a more percentage of students pass their classes because the schools use the money for educational purposes. Therefore, districts should get rid of after school sports because they are too expensive, students grades are dropping, and kids are not paying enough attention in class.
Schools should not get rid of sports because it improves focus and academics, and teaches you to work with others as a team. Schools shouldn’t get rid of sports, because it improves students focus and academics. This is important because it proves that sports can improve students for school subjects. In the article ”Should schools get rid of sports”, according to a 2013 report from the Institute of Medicine, physically active kids have more focus, are better problem solvers, and score higher on tests. This supports my claim because it helps students improve in many subjects, like it is better to stay focused while doing your homework and the work you do in school.
Should kids be in sports throughout their school career? The topic of Sports for children has generated a lot of argument for both the viewpoint that sports teach athletes hard work and discipline and the opposing viewpoint that sports can be very physical and life changing. The viewpoint that kids should be in sports are stronger because sports help create better people, also it gives kids the chance to show what they can do. While there are many other main ideas to support the viewpoint that kids should be in sports, sports help with culture and education is one that I found to be the best argument.
High School Sports Should be Funded Every year 300,000 students are participating in sports (Gould 1). The School District has been funding the athletics program, which has been benefiting many of the students’ lives for several years. The discontinuation of high school sports will cause many students to loose the health, social and educational benefits provided by participating in athletics. The School District should continue to fund sports because they benefit students.
The stress can get so intense, it feels paralyzing. That’s why it is important than ever for schools to invest in their athletic programs,” states the sports article “Should Schools get rid of Sports.” Schools should keep their sports programs because they help improve academics, help improve mental and emotional health, and improves social skills like being on a team. Schools should not get rid of their sports programs because they help with student’s academics.
I believe that sixth graders should not be able to play sports because they should learn the rules before they try out for the sports. This is important because if they learn the sport instead of playing the couch they would have to teach and that could take months
But, according to , kids are now being thought new and enhanced techniques of playing the sport. The chances of injuries and concussions are rapidly decreasing. Therefore, kids should be allowed to play the sport. Moreover, it has been proven through many studies that active kids do better in school.
Sport in high school shouldn’t be taken away because it allow new students to make friends a lot easier. If we didn’t have sports in schools then there wouldn’t be professional sports anymore because the kids won’t be able to practice and not every kid has money to buy a ball or net and basketball hoop. It helps the student’s grades in classes because if they have low grades in one class they can’t play the sport so they try their hardest to raise the grade so they can play the sport. This is why I think they shouldn’t take away sports in high schools.
People have been debating whether schools should, or should not have sports programs. Many studies have proven that physical activities in educational institutions improve children’s academic skills. Therefore, public schools should have sports programs because they help kid’s education, help kids stay fit, and are less expensive than club sports. People have discovered that when children are in after school programs, their grades improve and they are able to focus more in school. O’Shei states that when children take time off of their homework to go play sports, it “sharpens their brain to help them focus more in school and have a better understanding of the topic that they are learning” (12).
To most kids and students, competitive sports are a gateway to blow off some steam or to have fun. To parents, the sports that their children play and the lessons that they teach are an important part of their development and life. Despite what many ‘experts’ would like you to believe, both of these statements are completely true. I believe that kids should be allowed to play competitive sports due to the health benefits, the lessons that they can teach, and as a result of the advanced equipment and rules that are focused on making sports safe, as well as the fact that sports can keep kids out of trouble. One extremely important reason that forces me to take the position that kids should be allowed to compete in competitive sports is the health benefits that children who play sports recieve.
