Schools sports are a major deal in the United States of America. But, they have also started a growing argument around whether or not they should be scaled back. In the essay, “NO! Sports Are More Important Than Ever” by Tim O’Shei supports the idea that school sports are more important than ever and should not be scaled back. For example, in the passage, it states, “Stepping away from your books for softball practice can help sharpen your brain.”
When everybody argues enough and then schools decides to keep sports their should be a fee of that parents have to pay for buses, and players have to pay for half of their uniform, and then the school pays for the other half. Don’t you think? The problem is that schools think that keeping sports is a financial burden and that sports bring down students academics. Schools should not get rid of sports because school sports help improve academics, sports can bring a community together, and sports can reveal character. Schools should not get rid of sports because sport programs help test and academics.
Also kids try harder in school when there playing a sport because they cant play while they are failing school so they try a lot harder in school. equally important it is good exercise for kids to play
Nearly eight million students currently participate in high school athletic in the United States. More than 480,000 compete as NCAA athletes. (www.ncaa.org). Sports help students to develop many skill and characteristic that carry throughout their life. The two articles that I have referred to my essay are "The Case Against High School Sports", by Amanda Ripley and "Psychological and Social Benefits of Playing True Sport", by The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Youth athletics takes away from the child’s chance of discovering what they truly love; they could really enjoy something other than sports. If a child spends every Saturday at a competition and drives an hour every night for a practice that will last 3 or more hours, they will never get the chance to try new things; all of their time is consumed by the sport they are playing. A child could be great at performing and acting in plays, but they will never know because they were pushed into athletics before they got the chance to explore all of their options. The person who could cure cancer, may never get the chance to explore the opportunities science offers him/her. By forcing children into sports at young ages, parents have cancelled out
This notion is supported by Dr. Daniel Gould, who believes that “Children who participate in sports have increased educational aspirations, closer ties to school and increased occupational aspirations in youth” (1). People against the funding of high school sports think that parents and society are placing more emphasis than ever before and, “[P]ressures athletic personnel to deviate on winning from the athlete- centered educational and personal development mission” (Gould 1). However, athletes strive to do better in class. Michael Lorenc, a high school basketball coach believes that “those who seem to have an overwhelming schedule where they’re playing maybe multiple sports, and high academic schedules, they tend to do better than those who don’t do anything extracurricularly” (Gray). Balancing sports and school makes athletes put more effort into keeping up grades while playing the sport they love.
If you have ever been in sports or school athletics, act fast! Schools are getting rid of their sports and we need to stop it. “Being a student is harder than ever. You are being held to tougher academic standards-and so is your school.
Should sports be Co-ed? Is It safe for sports to be Co-ed. Sports should not be Co-ed because male and female have different body and different mass. A female may be able to agile , while males can leave more than a female. There is a big difference in between female and male.
I feel like they should continue the fund for school sports. Funding the school sports help the kids that want to do sports, it also helps other people get active. If they were to stop funding, then the schools won't be able to do the sports. If the schools don't have sports then a lot of people wouldn't be so active and that's not what the schools would want. It also wouldn't be so good for the schools.
When it comes to the topic of College Sports, most of us will readily agree that a lot of people enjoy sports. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of should we keep college sports. Whereas some are convinced that only educational instruction should occur in college, others maintain that sports helps improve college life. Although the main purpose of college is learning, college sports make going to school fun.
Should High School sports be taken away? I’m going to be talking about whether they should take away sports in high schools. Some high schools think that sports are interfering with students learning and with their classes. Some other high schools are ok with having sports in school because it could help them gain lifetime benefits. I think they shouldn’t take away sports in high schools because it encourages the players to do well in class.
Boom! Crack! These are the sounds of football players hitting each other. Football was admitted into schools in 1970. Football has been in schools in 48 years.
People are debating whether sports in high school is a distraction to students or a way to help students establish better characteristic and encourage them to go to school. High School sports can expand school spirit, give opportunities and positive recognition to student, this can help students be more confident about themselves. In some schools, sports over shadow the achievement of other programs like music, academic and arts program. People think that this is unfair because the sport teams gets more resources from the community. Although some believes that sports should not be included in education, participating in sports can help students improve in behaviors and bring students to a better and brighter future in society.
A study shows that “The exercise programs may actually enhance the development of specific types of mental processing known to be important, for meeting challenges encountered both in academics and later in life.” Also, the athletes are improved since high school. The kids that play sports have a higher chance to be smarter, and be physically well. The best part of sports is that you can improve major parts of your life, which is physical health, psychological health, social skills, and academic
School Sports should be expelled from School. This should be done because of cost, Effect on academics and education, and problems the cause with family life. Sports in have become a natural occurrence in school The first reason why sports should not be affiliated with school 's is expense.
