The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution says, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The Constitution protects the rights for an American citizen in the United States to bear arms to provide security. Throughout American history, guns have been used to protect families, whether used in war or for protection in the home.
