An example is back in 1976 the Government decided to place a total ban on smoking advertisements on the TV and radio and in 1992 they stopped tobacco companies sponsorship sporting events. By 2013 cigarette packets were starting to show ugly pictures of what smoking can do to your body as well as commercials on TV. Since then by the Government stepping in with their campaigns this has shown that the amount of smokers has decreased by a quarter. So with advertising and large labelling on food packets this will make children aware of childhood obesity which will lead to high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and apnea. The long term effects are stroke and heart disease and early death. With these bad effects this is why compulsary PE to the year 10 level will decrease obesity
