Imagine you are a pit bull owner and the police come knocking on your door saying “Give us your pit bull.” This sounds crazy but it is actually happening in certain states. People are judging pit bulls because of the way they look. People discriminate against pit bulls because of their unfair reputation from the media. We shouldn't take pit bulls away from their owner imagine being taken away from your best friend. People should be able to have pit bulls as pets.

First, people should be able to keep pit bulls as pets because they are misunderstood.
For example, many people believe that pit bulls inherently dangerous traits, but that's false, according to Mary setter of the pit bull rescue center “There is no breed of dog that is inherently more dangerous.” Also, pit bulls are misunderstood because people think that pit bulls are born ready to fight. First pit bulls are not dangerous because they passed the American temperament test. For example, The American temperament testing society tested 870 pit bulls and of those 755 passed the test, they had a 86% pass rate, they also tested 785 golden retrievers of those 669 passed 116 failed to leave golden retrievers with an 85.2 pass rate. Therefore, making golden retrievers are more dangerous than a pit bull. Second pit bulls are not dangerous because there was a picture of pit bulls playing with young children and interacting with dogs. For example, the pictures showed that these kinds of dogs are not aggressive or dangerous towards people and dogs, and they were able to interact with all kinds of dogs from Chihuahuas, retrievers, and more.
