No, Pluto should not be considered a planet because it doesn’t have all the requirements it needs in order to be considered one.
According to curious.astro.cornell.edu “In order for an object to be concidered a planet, it must do three things: orbit around the sun, have sufficient mass to assume hydrostatic equilibrium, and have a “cleared region” around it’s area.” Pluto has two of the requirements out of the three used by astronomers. Pluto does not have enough gravity to launch objects such as asteroids out of it’s atmosphere and therefore, does not follow the third rule of planets. Pluto is also called a plutoid, meaning it orbits the sun but is farther from it then Neptune. Since Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930 by Clyde W. Tombaugh,
