It is also important that we provide accurate and proven sexual classes to our students. More than 80% of Americans believe that a form of sexual education should be taught in schools.5 The majority of these people believe that this education should be focused on various forms of birth control. Currently the federal government provides funds for these evidence-based types of education through the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative and the Personal Responsibility Education Program. I will support programs that seek to expand funding for programs that teach a variety of birth control methods
So many different conclusions could be drawn from the same facts. Some people believe that their children should not know about sexual topics. “ I think there is the idea that children should not be exposed to the things that are all troubling and disturbing to them.” - (NY Times), but its not true, if this generation has no knowledge about sex and its bad effects then how could they ignore these mistakes. We need to teach about sexual effects t present generation so the could learn something about it and try to avoid it.
Lois Lowry quotes, “Submitting to censorship is to enter the seductive world of ‘The Giver’: the world where there are no bad words and no bad deeds. But it is also the world where choice has been taken away and reality distorted. And that is the most dangerous world of all.” She states censorship controls us and it gives us no choice. With having censorship in schools is where the falling of education comes into play.
For many years, schools around the nation have focused on sports instead of their academic studies. Many studies show that these activities are harming places of learning. Therefore, districts around the country should stop this after class past time to save money, reduce the child’s stress, and to increase the learners grades As many Americans know, money can help to achieve a great education. In an article “Should Your School Get Rid of Sports”, it was found that “many schools can not afford to repair classrooms due to the lack of funding”(Ripley 10).The biggest events the schools have to pay for are the games, they have to pay for the concession stands, to clean up after the kids who leave their trash and they have to repair the bleachers
The education system of this nation is biased. Evolution has been taught as Scientific fact for many years and creationism has been treated as just a religious belief and not worthy to be taught. Even though evolutionism is also a belief that has yet to be proven, it is taught as fact in every science class in America. The Supreme court has deemed that requiring educators to teach evolution and also teach creationism unconstitutional, but declaring that was merely a violation of equality and freedom of religion. (Epperson v. Arkansas) Creationism can’t be taught as a response to the theory of evolution, nor does creationism meet the faith of scientists.
For Goodness Sex, by Al Vernacchio, is a welcome relief from the two previous books; Girls & Sex and Man Interrupted, as the focus is about sexuality as a whole; gender, sexual orientation, etc., rather than on the culture of females and males. In a chapter titled “Gender Myths,” Vernacchio (2014) asks the question, “male and female, is that all there is” (Vernacchio, A., p. 112, 2014)? In teaching his class on Sexuality and Society, Vernacchio asks these questions and questions similar, demonstrating that he takes into consideration that there are feelings at stake and keeps in mind the human aspect of sex and sexuality as he is intentionally behind challenging students to foresee and develop their sense of values about sex, instead of constantly being “in the moment.”
This idea of being ‘open to new ideas’, has only shown students of comparisons from each, and undermining their understandings of the scientific community. Another article establishes, “In 2004, however, Holt and two other publishers offered four new high school textbooks that lacked any information on family planning and disease prevention except through abstinence.” (Fighting Textbook Censorship) Since another action has been made, this has eliminated information of prevention of the effects of sexual relations. Both of these instances have only been made because of the school board’s religious beliefs.
The subject of evolution will always be a touchy subject for some students than it is for others, but I do not think it should ever get to a point where parents should be able to excuse their child from a specific class due to the curriculum including evolution. If a parent is uncomfortable with their child learning about evolution in the classroom, it is to their own wishes what they choose to do for the educational future of their child. In some cases, there are parents who made the decision to have their child pulled out of public school due to the teaching of evolution. When this happens the children are normally sent to private religious schools or even homeschooled. This also creates controversy because many believe these children are not receiving the education that they should be, and I believe that is a true statement.
Researchers Background I am writing this paper as a Gender and Peacebuilding student, with a background in reproductive health. My standpoint is pro-choice, and I believe comprehensive sexual education in school is absolutely necessary in the reduction of unwanted pregnancy and for the reduction of abortions. Background The two abortion standpoints have been conflicting ever since the 1880’s when abortion became illegal until 1973 when abortion was legal again and continues until this day (OBOS Abortion Contributors, 2014).
“More than one in five adolescents (21% of females and 24% of males) received abstinence education without receiving instructions about birth control in 2002, compared with 8-9% in 1995” mentioned by Guttmacher Institution. Sex education is schooling students in grade school about the issues relating to human sexuality that involves emotional relations and responsibilities, human analogy, sexual activity, sexual reproduction, age of consent, reproductive rights, safe sex, birth control and sexual abstinence. Comprehensive sex education is a controversial issue that many spin their heads about due to its confrontation it’s had over the past several years. This issue in particular is a topic that many cannot come to an agreement because of many
Government should add more programs into schools to inform students on sex education and supply them with free contraceptives for the people who are unable to purchase it. When the government try to avoid the issue by eliminating sex education. It will only worsen the issue then to solve the problem. Children need to be able to learn sex through a traditional and non-traditional classroom environment. The knowledge from schools, family and clergy give children the chance to receive education through different people perspective.

Parents teach their kids to walk, to talk and good manners, which is all beneficial to a child. However, when it comes to teaching a child about sex, most parents tends to feel uncomfortable. Feeling uncomfortable does not change the fact that kids are maturing faster and they need the education to help them make decisions which will prevent them from making bad choices. For parents who tends to feel this way, sex Ed curriculum will be beneficial to both parents and children. The information kids gained will not only teach them about their genitalia, also about inappropriate touching, STD’s and early pregnancy.
People ashamed while talking about the sex and don’t want to talk by thinking that what images they would have in their society if they talk openly in this topic or rather they think that talking on this topic will down their prestige in society. Since a long time sex education has been a great challenge in regarding whether to consider it in school education or not. There had been many disputes about it. It’s because our Nepali traditional society believes that including sex education in high school education will destroy their children’s character and morality as per them it make them aware about sexual intercourse and they try to do it with practice.
