Having access to a cafeteria would limit the amount of students that leave campus for lunch. Students are known to leave
Some people think school should be year round, I strongly agree with this. People will get to see their friends more often. Also, a less chance of students forgetting info. Lastly, students would have more free time throughout the year. This is why school all year round is a great idea.
(Smith, T.N. 2012) The students and staff while on campus who are protecting themselves or another should not be subject to arrest or be punished for a crime. Students need to properly educate the public on the benefits of carrying guns on the campus. By states not allowing guns on campus it is making a target for the shootings. Research says there are more rapes, assaults, and robberies than killings.
Open campus at lunch time is a huge advantage for high school students, and is a great punishment as well. The student's responsibility to come back to school on time will have consequences if students don't follow it. This will help them realize that the word is run by rules and if people don't follow them, there will always have consequences. Students will be gaining responsibility for collage and the real world after that. To succeed in life people need independence, maturity, and responsibility.
Why should CHS students be allowed to leave campus to buy food of their choice? Why shouldn’t they? Not many schools give their students as much freedom, sadly Conroe High falls in that category, if what school does is prepare us for the real world, shouldn’t they allow us the same freedom adults have when they take a lunch break at work? I have heard in many occasions how students complain about how horrible the food tastes, some of them decide not to eat it just simply because they don’t like the taste. Many other kids decide not to get free and reduced lunch because their parents just make them lunch every morning, others decide to buy their food in the morning and eat it during their lunch period, i have even seen students leave campus
When many people are behind that thought it may be difficult to change their minds into having weapons inside a school. The schools can be prepared, but there is always someone that is going to outsmart their system or know the system then they would win. If plans were based off of the layout of schools it will be harder for people to outsmart the system (Cummings). Making new plans at schools will take way too long to complete and it will create a weakness in the schools. Even though making a new plan may take a long time it is the best option to prevent school
The supporters for concealed carry on college campuses argue that students and teachers should be able to open carry on campus because it will reduce the number of school shootings. The great state of “Texas has made carrying a concealed weapon on college campuses legal as of August 2016” (New York Times).
Firstly, the arming of students, faculty and staff should be prohibited because its unsafe. The debate on whether staff, faculty and students should carry firearms on campuses has been going for years now. Some colleges have debated that a law should be passed were staff and faculty should carry firearms on campus, but other colleges have dismissed this case because it is dangerous and unsafe. According to Jesus Villahermosa’s essay “Guns don’t belong in the Hands of Administrators, Professors, or Students” he states, “I agree that allowing guns on campuses will create problems, not solve them.” This statement is true because not everyone is capable to handle a gun or even use one.
If Texas allows students to open carry their own weapons in school, hundreds more similar incidents may occur. The only time a state should be allow laxed gun laws is when the people have total and complete faith among each other, which is something that we currently lack in the country as of now. As public shootings occurrences continue to rise in the country, the people clearly are not ready to handle the situations by themselves. The Campus carry Law is not a step to better and protect the people as it will increase the rick of others, will not make people feel safe, and lead to more
Should teachers be allowed to carry? Carson A. Lovin Devils Lake High School Shootings across america are not a new thing to us, in fact they have been going on for quite some time now. “The United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or about 270,000,000 guns, which is the highest total and per capita number in the world. 22% of Americans own one or more guns.” (https://gun-control.procon.org/) Whether it be school shootings, mall shootings, or even shootings in a church, we know that it is going to happen again and it has in the passed.
There are many rules that students disagree with at Northwestern High School. Many students would like to wear hats in school. Many students would like to fly a flag on their truck. In conclusion, many students are hoping some of these rules will be changed. At Northwestern, many students would like to wear their hats in school.
A good number of adolescents are lacking sleep and are performing poorly both academically and physically. As a result, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is pushing educational policymakers to make middle and high schools start later in the morning (Richmond). Students show up to class seriously lacking sleep and the early start times cause them to have to wake up at hours that contradict their internal clocks, which are rhythms that determine sleep patterns. Less than half of the 10th graders get even seven hours of sleep, which is already less than the recommended hours of sleep for an adolescent (Richmond). Even if teenagers go to bed earlier, their school start times are becoming more early as they advance through grades
Have you ever thought that free time is often overlooked? Or haven’t you realize that students need time to relax and time to think? I believe that at some point of our lives, we will learn to appreciate free time, which is greatly essential to our total growth as a human being. The four-day school week, first adopted in the 1930s when U.S. was in the throes of the Great Depression, saw a resurgence during the energy crisis of the 1970s. Eventually, the four-day plan was implemented by rural communities, in order to save money on transportation, heating, janitorial, and clerical costs.
It would make schools a safer place, it makes it so people can intervene before the police get there, and show that American’s staff and students are responsible enough to carry on college campuses. Think about college campus carry what it could do for the future. References Common Arguments Against Campus Carry. (n.d.). The main purpose of school is to provide a safe learning environment for faculty and their charges. With students becoming older, more mature, and “too cool” for the school bus, they should have an alternative way to transport themselves to and from the facility. While the students are allowed to drive themselves to school, many of them do not have the option to park on campus due to the lack of parking permits. Ever since we were old enough to dream, students have fantasized about the day they could start driving to school to show their new sense of freedom.
