Should we be teaching To Kill A Mockingbird in schools? In the book. Both languge and evil are very prominate. Becasue of the lannguge and evil people believe that the book should be banned. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird, both languge and evil are present, causing people to ban the book from our schools. This book shows what languge techy used in the 1930’s. This language is now seen as wrong but back then it was not. “... you defend niggers?” (Lee 77). This is just one of the many examples of languge in the book. This word back then was not really a bad word, everyone said it. Now it is seen as a bad word and people do not think we should be teaching it to our kids. “Blacks and abolitionists began to object to the term as a racial slur by the early 19th century, and by the mid-20th, it was considered deeply offensive” (Amy).
