Welcome back fellow readers and bloggers! I am still continuing on in the Sci-Fi book Cured, by Bethany Wiggins. Jacqui and her friends, who are now in a large amount of trouble, are still searching for Dean and Fiona’s mom. In my story there is large conflict including the antagonists, the raiders, and the protagonists, Jacqui and her band of friends.

However, there were numerous areas in which work needed to be done. Therefore white historians entered the field to share the work. One of them published the first extensive study of slavery.

Amiee was persistent when deciding that she wanted to be the fastest woman with artificial legs.

The book Black Like Me was written by a man who did the unthinkable in 1959. John Howard Griffin purposely altered the pigment in his skin to darken. He had transformed himself into a black man! Within the text, he describes his disturbing encounters with the inevitable traveling deep into the South. From New Orleans, Louisiana to Mobile, Alabama he journeyed through masses of racism but also discovered a newfound respect and kindness given by his fellow Negroes.
"Black Like Me" written by John Howard Griffin. Based on Griffin's experience as African American. In his book Black Like " he talks about the white racism that he faced as african american. Also, He tells us how black people are courteous and warm with each other even with a stranger like Griffin. He gave us the example of how when people get together can achieve goals.
In the book Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin he wants to experience what African America people have to encounter on a daily basis. Griffin explains, “If a white man became a Negro in the Deep South, what adjustments would he have to make?” (Griffin 1960, 1). Here Griffin explains that if a white man were to become a color person many whites wouldn’t believe in his beliefs of his experiment because he wouldn’t go through the same thing that the colored people go through. With the experiment that Griffin goes through he not only convinces people that the Southern legislators don’t have that “wonderfully harmonious relationship” (Griffin 1960, 1).
Between Black Boy and Separate Pasts, one written by an African-American male and the other by a white male, the telltale stories share more in common than one would think. Black Boy is written by an African-American by the name of Richard Wright and recollects stories starting from when he was four up until adulthood. Wright suffered first-hand from segregation taking place mainly in the North. In contrast, Melton A. McLaurin gives full insight on how it was in the South in terms of segregation from a white man’s perspective. Separate Pasts and Black Boy both share an extremely valuable point-of-view living as separate races, but still being affected by segregation in different parts of the country at different times.
In the poem “ What it is like to be a black girl”, Patrica Smith uses metaphorical language to show us how young black girls are being judge in society based on stereotypes . It’s describing how she wants to change and become like other people in the racial society because she’s having a hard time accepting who she is. In the beginning of “What it’s like to be a black girl” it gives you a view of a young black girl who doesn’t feel accepted in society. It emphasis the fact that many young black girls want the world to accept them for who they are.
We, as human beings, must be willing to accept people who are different from ourselves”(Jordan Barbara). People are different in many obvious ways, including ethnicity, skin color, and language, Barbara vaguely covers this in her quote. People should be able to accept others, whether it’s a language barrier or having different religions of beliefs. No matter what species, skin color should not matter on whether there is acceptance between them. The text "The Wives Story” Her husband turns into a human, then turns on his previously close wolf family.
The Benefits of Technology in School in a Technological Society The Tennessean published Lisa Fingeroot’s article, “Nashville schools push for more technology,” in November of 2012. She discussed the benefits of technology that include, making learning fun with its inclusive methods, Fingeroot believes technology can improve the quality of education nationwide, and provides a very interactive and personal way for students to learn. She states that Kecia Ray, executive director of Metro schools’ learning technology department and president-elect of International Society for Technology in Education, has the goal of presenting a plan that provides technological access to more students. The first thing a reader notices to an article is the title.
Baek discusses a wide range of topics in this article about why teachers are very reluctant to use technology in the classroom. The message that is received from this article is that gaming in the classroom can have many negative effects in the classroom from student relationships to addiction. Both of Baeks work relate to each other through explaining how technology can have negative effects in the classroom. He explains this by talking about
Similarities I found between being African American and Iranian American is that it doesn’t matter what ethnicity you are in America there are always racist people in America. There are great deal of people who believe that they’re the best, consequently believe that the immigrants or colored people don’t have the right to live in America and have the same rights. African Americans are all those people who are called African, and that happens to a lot Iranian American people for the reasons that there some some people in the society who assume that the Middle East is desert and everyone speaks Arabic which is not true.
In today’s modern society technology plays a huge role in everyday life. Technology has a big position in education. Today students use laptops for school on an everyday basis to take notes, work on assignments, and research. Many people agree that, when it comes to education, technology can either be very harmful or very helpful. Timothy D. Snyder, a history professor at the University of Yale has written five award-winning books.
Growing up my parents instilled in me that I was beautiful and my skin was beautiful. It was clear to me that everyone else didn’t feel the same way. I went to a couple different schools throughout my life starting with a predominantly black school then a predominantly white school then a very diverse school and at each one I still experienced colorism. At the black school I was not liked because I was darkskin and my hair was kinky and I was just not as pretty as the light skinned girls.
