The Russian revolution. It was a time of political and social revolution that took place in Russia, it was one of the most explosive political events of the twentieth century. Russia (then known for the Russian empire) was led by the emperor Nicholas the second. He ruled from 1894 to 1917. The revolution marked the end of the Romanov dynasty and centuries of Russian imperial rule. During the Russian revolution the Bolsheviks (led by Vladimir Lenin), took control and destroyed the czarist. This group would later be known as the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Napoleon in Animal Farm begins the revolution by "appealing to dread" and other propaganda strategies. This tactic encourages the general populace to join the pigs in their revolt. This fear was primarily psychological and visual. Napoleon's use of propaganda is demonstrated when he accuses Snowball, a fellow pig who wants to lead the revolution, of destroying the windmill. One example of that was Napoleon, a pig. He represents of course, the great Josef stalin. You can see this for his multiple character traits like: Intelligents, Contemptible and cunning as the book ends with him achieving his goal and making Animal farm all his. You have the general characters like Boxer who represents the Russian workers and Squealer who represents propaganda. Farmer Jones is another character who we got to know, he represents the Czar Nicholas the second who was the last emperor in Russia. He was seen as shy, weak and indecisive.
The contrast between them is that the Russian revolution actually took place and Animal farm is just an exaggeration, an political satire.

The last piece of evidence is that in Animal farm, so as in the Russian revolution the revolution started because the people had no other choice. In Russia the people did not even get enough money to buy enough food. And in Animal farm the animals also had no other choice, the farmer did not open the barn with the food in it because he overslept.
