Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were two of the most powerful dictators to ever live. Killing over 40 million people combined they obviously have similarities but they also have interesting differences. Hitler and Stalin have resemblances to one another along with some major distinctions such as their upbringing, way of control, and how people died while they were in power. Germany and Russia, at this time, had some harsh conditions that just ended and some that were still going on. Hitler and Stalin both took this disadvantage and turned it into their advantage. What Hitler did was he only told the people the successes the nazi army was having. Of course this then appealed to the younger demographic. Therefore there was young adult and little kids growing up wanting to be apart of the nazi army. It aldo didn’t help that the nazi army also ran the schools. This made it easier to persuade the kids about jews and make them from poor decisions about them. When these got old enough to be apart of the nazi army they didnt think twice about disliking the jews because that was the norm and that was how they were taught to think. There was also a group of people called the SS or known as Schutzstaffe. These people started off as hitler's bodyguards but then developed into a group of people that were allowed to send people to concentration camps without putting them into camps. The Schutzstaffel were also the group that put the jews, gypsies and other people in the camps into the gas chambers. While HItler was very much terrifying it was Stalin's fortey to make the people of Russia quake with fear when his name was mentioned. “Stalin ruled by terror and with a totalitarian grip in order to eliminate anyone who might oppose him.” He did it all executions, purges, exiles, labor camps, show trials, starving people to death.
