Romeo and Tybalt Romeo and Tybalt, two whom are similar yet different, one born of house capulet and one of house montague. Romeo a loving peaceful man and Tybalt a man prone to violence. They possibly could have been great friends if they weren’t placed in this unfortunate situation. Romeo is caring and doesn’t feel hate towards the capulet family, when his friends convince him to go to a capulet party he spots a girl whom he falls deeply in love with, “ what lady’s that which doth enrich the hand of yonder knight”(-ROM 1.5.41) showing how he doesn’t care that she is a capulet. Fetch me my rapier boy”(-ROM 1.5.54). Showing his prone to violence as well as his hate for the montagues, he wants to attack Romeo for just showing up. His uncle however stops him “I would not for the wealth of all this town here in my house do him disparagement. Therefore be patient”(-ROM 1.5.70). Tybalt and Romeo have a confrontation after he marries Juliet (in which Tybalt doesn’t know about). “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain”(-ROM 3.1.57). Romeo, who doesn’t wish to fight Tybalt states “Tybalt, the reason that I love thee doth much excuse the appertaining rage to such a greeting, villain am I none, therefore farewell, I see thou knowest me not”(-ROM 3.1.59). Romeo tries to calm the situation and leave knowing that Tybalt is his cousin in law and therefore does not wish to fight him however Tybalt feels great anger towards Romeo for “daring” to show up at a capulet party as the blood of montague. Tybalt feels hate towards Romeo however Romeo feels love and compassion towards Tybalt. Tybalt’s feelings and judgment are clouded by hate of the montague
