We all love a good story, especially when it includes characters that we feel connected to. Whether it is the lover, the fighter, the drama queen, or the loner; they make us feel that we are apart of their world. A good example of this, is two characters from Romeo and Juliet; Romeo and Tybalt. They draw us in with their hatred for the other, mostly due to their families dynamic. Let’s explore how these two characters are different than they are similar. Tybalt is a very stubborn character, and he gets mad very easily when it comes to Romeo and the Montagues. Tybalt is vain, easily antagonised, aggressive, violent, and quick when it comes to drawing his sword when he feels his pride or ego is being challenged. One thing that they have in common is that they both love their families and friends. The way they were raised is to hate the Capulets or vise versa so they never made friends outside of their town. They grew very close to the people that they were allowed to see so when they see the Montagues they would want to fight or hurt them. The big thing they share is that later they become related because, Romeo marries Juliet. When no one knew that Romeo and Juliet got married, Romeo and his friends were walking around town and ran into Tybalt and his friends. Tybalt says that he wants to fight but Romeo says multiple times that he can not fight him but never tells him why. Tybalt keeps pushing and pushing him to fight and then all of a sudden Tybalt draws his sword and starts the fight. The fight goes on for a little bit but then it takes a unexpected turn, Romeo kills Tybalt. Continuing the similarities, Romeo and Tybalt have very strong passions. They both in joy and like to do various things. They love being with friends and families because that was how they were raised. Yes, the Capulets had it easier because they were the well off people and got everything they wanted but that doesn’t mean that Montagues were without means either.
