Welcome Simons friends and family, First off I just want to give thanks to everyone who came to remember our dear friend Simon Birch. Im Joe Wentworth he was my best friend 12 years. Simon Birch was a nice, loving, brave, friendly and kind person to all. Some of my favorite memories are breaking into the PE office, the Christmas pageant and our time together. A lot of people loved him because of his kindness. His kindness spread positivity. And made people happy. His actions spread joy to all. When I first met Ben I thought he was a weird guy, but when I got to know him he was a really nice guy. When he showed up for my mom's date he had a paper bag, Simon and I didn’t know what was in it. Once the bag was opened we both thought it was a monster, but it was an armadillo. We screamed in fear. But then Ben told us it was fake, I didn't like it, but Simon wanted to have it. He brought it everywhere. When the Christmas pageant happened Simon ruined it but it made the whole audience laugh when everything started falling apart, I thought it was funny because it was a chain reaction of everything happening. When the kid threw up all over Miss. Leavey it was the most hilarious thing ever. Miss. Leavey was so in shock she passed out. My favorite memories were when we would go swimming in the lake or when he would spend the night. When he took his last breath I was there and it was completely draining and I felt like part of me was dying also. I was mad. I was sad.
