Simon is the only boy who doesn't appear to be afraid of the forest. It might be because he knows that he's safer alone than with the other boys. This quote represents fear, because it shows Simon doesn’t mind being alone in the forest, while the rest other boys are too scared to be alone. It also shows that Simon much rather prefers to be alone than with all the other boys, because of all the savagery that's been going on. Simon is different from the other boys, because he is both an independent and a very observant person.
Task 3 In the Lord of The Flies by William Golding, William Golding believes man is inherently corrupt; therefore, law and authority is utmost important for mandkind. William Golding is going for a more savage look in the novel for example the plane that the children are on crashes and it kills the pilot. The children end up waking up from the crash and are stranded on an island. These sources “What Makes Us Moral” and the article “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” agree with William Golding’s Lord of The Flies.
Lastly the beast becomes savagery. In document E, Golding writes “maybe there is a beast… What I mean is… maybe it's only us.” Simon says this towards the beginning of Lord of the Flies when they first talk about what the beast is. Simon says that there isn't really a beast but only it is themselves.
Simon is in the woods and sees the pigs head on stick, it then starts talking to him. He is supposedly the “lord of the flies” and promises Simon he is going to have some fun with the boys, Simon then faints. Simon awakens and stumbles up the mountain, where he finds the beast is actually the dead parachutist. He then goes as quickly as he can to inform the others. Ralph's tribe go to Jacks tribes party.
Cassy’s superior intellect enables her to study Simon carefully revealing his fears and superstitions, weapons she used to defeat him. Cassy uses an attic in the old house to her advantage. This attic is believed to be haunted by a negro woman who was confined in it by Legree himself. She was out up there after being disobedient. The servants of Legree don’t know what happened exactly, but they do know that her body was taken down from it and buried.
The other boys start to fear the beast more and more, thinking it was a physical being, but Simon understands that it is not real and that it is only created by the boy’s fear. When Simon comes out of the forest to try to explain this to the boys, they mistake him for the beast and end up killing him. Simon's
He would find the reasons why certain things would happen, and along the way after getting a fever. After hearing about so-called beast lurking along the island, Simon goes off into the woods and finds the ‘lord of the flies’. Which turns out to be a decomposing pig’s head on a stake. But,
In life people are either leaders or followers. My opinion of a leader is someone who shows independence and does what is right. In William Golding's Lord of the Flies, he shows a group of boys stranded on an island. As time goes on, the boys become savages fighting for the right to be chief. Simon shows the best traits of a leader, because he often goes off on his own path showing his independence.
Notes from the Island Day 1: Today I found myself in a strange place, an island I suppose. I think the plane I was riding plane crashed and that’s how I ended up here. At first I was afraid that I was alone until I met another boy. Now that I think about it, he never told me his name. I’ll just continue calling this boy “Piggy”.
In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, many young boys became stranded on a deserted island without any grownups. In the beginning, Ralph, the leader, warns everyone about the importance of having a fire with smoke in order for ships to find them. Not everyone agrees with his philosophy though; some think finding food is a more urgent matter. These boys create their own tribe led by a young boy named Jack. Through the development of Jack Merridew’s characterization, the author shows that humans will succumb to their animalistic ways when they do not have a set government.
In the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding the ultimate one responsible for the destruction of the island is Jack. In the novel Golding has wrote about how a group of british boys crashed on a plane and landed on a island where there are no adults, just little british boys stranded on a island .In the beginning one of the boys Ralph was the responsible leader where he knew what to do an how to manage. But of course there was this one cureles jealous boy that wanted to be a leader, the one in charge. Because of how ruthless and savage Jack was he took the fear that the boys had within them and used it against them to make them join his tribe which started the destruction of the island.
Civilization means to be a part of a culture, to have a leader who takes power, and to be apart of orderly society. In the novel The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Simon is the most civilized boy on the island because he has the most positive outlook out of every boy on the island, he is insightful of what and where the beast is, and, he is the first to realize most of the problems that occur on the island. Simon has the most positive outlook out of every boy on the island. Simon insisted multiple times that the boys would get rescued, even when Ralph strongly doubted the possibility.
Meanwhile, Simon was on the mountain discovering that the beast wasn’t real. When he went to tell the others, they thought he was the beast, and they attacked and killed him. These events are all the result of one common feeling. In chapter 9 of Lord of the Flies, William Golding employs

He sees Jack and his tribe kill a sow and stick the head onto a sharpened stick, which is placed in the ground as an offering to the beast. This head of the dead pig becomes the Lord of the Flies, and it “speaks” to him. It tells him that “I’m the beast” and says that you cannot kill it, and later goes on to say that “I’m part of you … the reason … things are what they are” (Golding 130). After this meeting with the Lord of the Flies, Simon feels “a blackness within, a blackness that spread” (Golding 131) and faints. Simon is now aware of what causes the boys to act this way.
