The character collective 0-0009 is a flat character, one whose sole purpose in the book is to convey the feelings of the group toward Equality 7-2521. Other characters like him are the same part of that chapter, and they do the same: show their contempt for an individual who has challenged the beliefs of their
In A Single Shard the narrator shows how Tree-ear is intrigued in what the potter is doing, and wants to see more. Tree-ear wants to see more of the potters work and wants to keep coming back to watch the potter. Tree-ear sees that the potter is unhappy with the work he has done and keeps attempting it over and over again. Tree-ear doesn't understand why he keeps doing it again, since to him, it looks perfect every time. Also in A Single Shard, it isnt Tree-ears first time watching the potter.
In the novel Flipped, by Wendelin Van Draanen, the two main characters, Bryce and Juli are neighbors. They have some conflicts especially in the beginning when Bryce first moves in across the street from Juli (1-10). Bryce can be a jerk at times, on the other hand, Juli is a very positive person. An example of how Juli is positive is when Bryce first moved to Juli's neighborhood she was all ready to go to help them unpack because she just needed someone to play with.
He arrives to work and see's Pino, his coworker, and son of Sal, give him a dirty look and said, " you are late". Pino is a racist person who does not like black people and does not get along with Mookie. In contrast, Vito is a nice and respectful individual who is friends with Mookie. It is with these four individuals that Sal's pizzeria had become so well known in New York. Sal is a person who likes to help everyone and is a well-rounded individual.
In chapter 10 of A Single Shard Tree-ear is six days into his journey to Songdo. He has made a routine for him to follow each day. He walks all day then finds a place to sleep at night and he repeats this everyday. Tree-ear was finding a place for him to sleep one night when he saw two huge rocks sitting in the middle of the forest. He was too small to fit in the space that the rocks create, but he really like the shape of the rocks.
I plan on writing about the character Joe from ‘The Gilded Six- Bits’. In the beginning of the story, Joe comes across as the loving husband who loves to engage in some funny banter with his wife, Missie May. He brings her candy kisses very often and showers her with love and Missie May reciprocates the same. Joe is the positive, happy character in the beginning not that he changes drastically throughout the story, but after learning about his wife cheating on him with Slemmons, Joe goes through transition and during that period he departs his happy personality and dives into aloofness.
“Mom and Dad smiled at each other and laughed. It was a sound that Tree hadn’t heard from them in the longest time” (132). This shows how Tree wasn’t sure his parents were ever going to get along again, but they end up having a good time. This is an example of how family matters most and hope is always around. This situation gave Tree strength to preserve.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Colossians 3:23, KJV) In the story,A Single Shard, the main character, Tree-ear, resembles wholeheartedness, he does not act on eyeservice, and he is respectful and obedient. Even though he does not believe believe in God, his actions still resemble that of Christ. Tree-ear is not just striving to become a potter, but he is doing everything in his power to achieve that goal. Tree-ear shows his honesty and trustworthiness in pursuing his desires.
In A Single Shard, each character has traits that changed from the beginning to the end. Tree-ear is an orphaned boy who lives in a small village on the West Coast of Korea and had a care-taker, Crane-man, that passed away. Tree-ear’s traits and personality changed throughout the book. Tree-ear’s features changed gradually from the beginning to the end.
“Being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It just means that you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.” - Rick Riordan, The Mark of Anthena. Watchmen is a graphic novel which does not have a clear protagonist or antagonist, since each one of this character has some sort of scar that tells a story about them. In every book, movie or novel, there is always a character that you are most attracted to or find a similitude within.

Webster's dictionary defines a sport as "An athletic activity that requires physical prowers or skill and often a competitive nature.” There are a ton of activities that fit that criteria; football, basketball, gymnastics, dance, and so many more, but what about cheerleading? “Two Kinds,” by Amy Tan, essentially revolves around the struggle of Jing Mei and her constant conflict with her mother. Throughout her life, she is forced into living a life that is not hers, but rather her mom’s vision of a perfect child; because her mother lost everything, which included her parents and kids, so her only hope was through Jing Mei. Jing Mei’s mom watches TV shows such as the Ed Sullivan Show, which gives her inspiration that her daughter should be like the people and actors. First her mom saw how on the television a three-year-old boy can name all the capitals of the states and foreign countries and would even pronounce it correctly. Her mom would quiz Jing Mei on capitals of certain places, only to discover that
There are two sides to every story. In the novel, Flipped, by Wendelin Van Draanen, smart and determined Juli Baker wanted the love and attention of her neighbor Bryce Loski. But Bryce didn’t feel the same way about Juli, and he avoided her at all costs. Eventually Juli stopped following her heart and decided to forget about Bryce for good.
