Skillsusa Personal Statement

` SkillsUSA members have a mindset to take their careers to the next level, instead of doing the minimum for our future we are taking a step ahead. SkillsUSA gives students like us the opportunity to grow the confidence in ourselves, and the right mindset of our futures. “ I recently learned that success is not the key to happiness, but happiness is the key to success.” SkillsUSA has prepared me personally for my choice in the Criminal Justice career field by giving me the opportunity to learn about certain skills to talk and work with people efficiently and professionally. Different types of people law enforcement deal with on a daily basis, and also to know what to expect when I go into the police academy.

I personally chose Criminal

With career choice we choose one has to be professional at all times, and put others first. “ Our Time is Now” is for all Skills members to flourish and obtain a collective preparedness and confidence in their skills and abilities. My Skills chapter ensured all members achieved this by working together for weeks at a time to build that self confidence, and to also work out all the issues that we might not find by working on our own. While working together creates a fun atmosphere that helps reduce stress and builds a better working

Learning my Skills Framework has helped in many ways, from being able to separate my different skills from one another and not combining them all into one, to also being able to know which skills I should use in each instance. Two skills that I have practiced are my Personal Skills and my Technical Skills. I believe I use my Personal and Technical Skills the most with SkillsUSA because I have to be able to open up and share not only myself but my dreams and thoughts “ I would say technical education chose me.”. Technical Skills have taught me to know when I need to make time for my school work rather than the miscellaneous pursuits.

One activity that has helped me in my Career is being an Ambassador. I get to go to different schools and talk to a variety of students, not only about my class but just what the Crowder family has to offer, and what opportunities and a head start on a career. I also get to see a variety of people come and go. Treating them all the same can be very challenging at times, but that is when my personal skills and my workplace skills kick in for me to stop and remember that we are all human and we all bleed the
