Snapchat's has become a key player in artists' approach to their music. Using Snapchat, these artists give the world a chance to experience music before it's even out. With the help of their friends, Snapchat users and music listeners get to experience a subtle taste of an album through the app that, in result, spreads the word of new music. This new role Snapchat plays is having a profound effect on the music industry.

Snapchat has turned into a media outlet that increases an artist’s growth dramatically. In a one month span, Flynn states, songs can go “from 1.1 million to 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify.”

Though Snapchat has seemed to have just surfaced recently, it is now more popular than Twitter, Tumblr, and other social media sites, according to convince&convert writer Jay Baer, who states the percent of Americans who used Snapchat has gone from 17% in 2015 to 23% in 2016.

These numbers are expected to grow greater in coming years, especially now that Snapchat is a critical part of the music industry.
