Have you ever thought to yourself if social media is bad for you? Melissa Healy discusses that parents think social media is bad for teens. Parents think social media is bad because kids are on it 24/7 all day. They think social media holds teen back from doing things. Also they say that it affects teens. For example, it affects them with school and doing other daily things with friends. Teens from all ages now have conversations on social media for hours. All ages are now involved with social media and they says that kids like them can't interact face to face. I believe social media is harmful for young people.
In my perspective I agree that social media does affect us as teens nowadays. Social media is going to keep increasing more and more and which means kids are going to keep following the technology as it increase. Some examples I see about kids from all ages is all of them are always using facebook, snapchat, instagram, twitter, and texting. Kids that are around five year old are starting to use phones for games. And something about that is once you take the phone away from them they start crying so which means they are gonna want one as they grow.

What I mean about holding them back is parents say that they hold back by not doing what they are asked to do. Also they say that social media distracts them while trying to do homework or study for a test. technically they are saying that social media is affecting their education.
