Introduction: According to current US senses, American population is getting more diverse. There are many ethnic groups in the United States, and each group has greatly contributed to the America’s cultural heritage. It is often confusing for American youth to understand and overcome cultural stereotypes and biases. Also the ability to quickly adjust to cultural differences is essential key for success in today’s world. Social media has increasingly become a significant part of our daily activities in today’s globalization. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube are among the most popular forms of social media. The survey was made available on online google classroom site at https://goo.gl/HWYIkg. Although all participation was volunteering and anonymous, their demographic information was recorded. Half of the students were immigrants who do not speak English as their native language. The other half were born in the US. All students were either junior or senior high school students. Their survey was listed below: 1. Do you use social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc)? How often (once/twice/etc a day)? How much time (15 min, 30 min… each time)? 2. What do you do most in social media (checking on people’s status, chatting, uploading photos, blogging, watching video, streaming, etc)? 3. Are you using social media to learn more about other cultures? Are you using social media to make friends outside your classrooms? Do you have any online friend that lives in another city/state/country? Do you keep in touch with your long-distant friend through social media? 4.
