Consumers barley read whats in the stuff they are taking in. Not to add, they can not know what they're taking in if it is never writing on the bottle. It is unethical to target these consumers. It could hurt the consumer causing a lawsuit or furthermore shutting down the company. FDA should regulate this kind of stuff so it never happens.
After watching this video where Michael Moss speaks about Salt, Sugar, and Fat in the American diet, my views about the food industry have changed. I never realized that the government was supporting the dairy industry. It amazed me to learn that the reason Americans are so attached to their dairy products is due to the strong relationship of the government and the dairy industry. Through research it was found the total amount of sodium in a typical meal at Chick-Fil-A which is 2000 milligrams. In my recommended amount of sodium for a day is less than 2300 milligrams. This is for one meal of the day, and this sodium level is more than two-thirds of my daily intake. There are some specific foods which contributed to the high sodium levels but the one food item that had the highest level of sodium was the chicken sandwich itself.
