Sofia was playing with play dough and a tea set with her younger brother Leo and older cousin Olivia. They were making cakes out of the play dough and and pretending to drink tea from the little tea cups. They were passing around the little cups to one another and asking each other if they want some “tea.” Later, Sofia and Olivia were trying to make a castle out of Legos. They were also playing with Barbie’s, the two little girls were talking through their Barbie’s and made a whole fantasy life. Emotional Skills: When Sofia’s mom came home from work she ran to her mom and gave her a kiss and hug as she was entering the room. I observed Sofia laughing and smiling most of the time while they were playing, except when Sofia’s brother said he didn’t want to play with play dough anymore and said he wanted to play with Legos she started to fake cry. She mentioned what she did and what other kids did. Sofia’s mom then asked her “How are you” Sofia shrugged her shoulders and said good. Expressive Language Sofia’s mother was mad at her for ignoring her brother and playing with her cousin, Sofia said “whoops, sorry,” to her mother and Leo. Sofia and her brother were playing tag, while they were running around the house, her brother Leo fell, and Sofia said, “oh no Leo!” He got back up and pushed Sofia, she yelled, “ouch Leo” while she was laughing. Part II 1. In my opinion the child’s overall appearance was healthy. Each skill that was asked to observe Sofia was showing and performing all of them. Sofia was wearing black thighs and a blue short sleeve shirt. She was dressed appropriately to the weather since it is still fairly hot in Southern California at 5 in the evening.
