Southwest Airlines with its growing success facilitated the owners to see the need for greater airline capacity, perhaps the popularity outgrown out of the revenue from the sales of tickets made the Southwest Airlines progressively expand to the other states in the US .For much capacity in its operations it moves to almost every states so as to facilitate the capacity required to meet the high demands especially in summer months .The initial cost for expansion is considerably high which actually made the introduction of $17 fare from Tampa to Fort Laurdarle.. Weakness: The capacity and time are considerably lost at check point where the passengers have to be frisked before the onset of the journey.
Opportunities: Due various varieties of airline services, the Southwest Airlines is able to dominate the entire market place leading to high productivity and profits realizations due to their well-placed position in terms of price elasticity.
Threats: presence of competitors that offers their services at cheaper prices
Southwest Airlines enjoy much due to well defined market and promotions strategy, these has led to wide popularity of their services as an airline company. Some processes that are offered by the Southwest Airlines Company which is complex contribute to delay time in the airport.
