Russian Revolution In 1922, as a result of the Russian Revolution, a new political party emerged: the USSR or the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was the world’s first communist state. Communism was a new political and economic model that was supposed to get rid of class distinction. From the beginning, communism opposed capitalism and capitalist countries like the United States. The Russian Revolution united the socialists against the capitalists, with the USSR, a communist country, siding with the socialists.
After World War II, the world changed, especially for some of the biggest nations like the United States and the USSR. With them being some of the biggest powers, their differences in ideologies started to really show and lead them to compete with each other. The Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union had a profound and far-reaching impact on numerous nations and regions across the globe from 1945 to 1989, such as Proxy Wars, Economic Aid and Influence, and Ideological Divisions. Proxy wars were a key way in which the Cold War between the US and the USSR affected other countries and areas. STALIN Stalin had both positive and negative effects on the Soviet Union during his time of rule. He brought forth many great ideas, but these ideas also affected the Union in a negative way. The five year plan was a system that Stalin came up with. This meant that they would follow a plan for five years, then when that five years was up, they would follow a different plan. He believed that this would help the Soviet Union keep up at a pace that the rest of the world was moving.
Many economic factors led to the collapse of the Russian empire. Those factors not only affected the empire, they also affected the people inside of the empire. By examining these factors, we can find out how they led to the fall of Russia. The collapse of the Russian Empire was primarily caused by a combination of weak industrialization, agricultural inefficiencies, and the economic strain of funding World War I. These factors, among others, contributed to the downfall of the empire.

Intro- The cold war was not a common war. It was a war fought without any physical weapons. It is the exact opposite of a hot war, example WWII a war with harmful weapons is a hot war. This specific cold war started in 1945 between the United States and the Soviet Union but they were never seen on a battlefield.
Tensions were very high between the Soviet Union and America at the end of WWII, and would only continue to escalate. America and the USSR rarely agreed and during WWII they were only able to work together because of the common enemy of Germany. At this point in time the USSR was communist and expanding their hold on land around them. At the Yalta conference in 1945, America and Great Britain agreed to give the Soviet Union control over Poland and Ukraine, and in return the Soviets agreed to use free elections in those countries. The Soviets went back on their word and ruled with communism.
According to historyplex.com “there were 9 US presidents during the Cold War”. This shows that the Cold War was a serious event if it involved 9 presidents. The Cold War was a battle that involved many countries. The Cold War had quite a few causes, the USA refused recognition to the USSR, Soviet Union being unhappy, and western democracies had been hostile to the idea of communitist. One of the causes which was most important to me was US refusing recognition to the USSR.

A. Explain the major causes of the Great Depression There were an innumerable of causes to the Great Depression from the Black Tuesday, economic policies and even a drought in America. To kick off the Great Depression the stock market crashed and $40 billion dollars in American assets were lost in the blink of an eye on what is recalled as Black Tuesday. This affected nearly 700 banks that all eventually failed and caused the many other banks that were able to stay afloat to become reluctant to loan any money out. Without new loans, there was no new money to be spent, causing the government to enact economic policies. The two superpowers formed huge military forces and amassed massive stockpiles of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction. Although the two sides never actually went to war, the United States was drawn into the bloody Korean and Vietnam wars by its policy of containment. The Cold War came to an end when the Soviet Union disintegrated after it became exhausted economically because of competing with the West. The situation left America as the world’s only remaining superpower that did not have to put too much effort to contain the rise of communism.
