Most Americans would agree that spanking at home; regardless of the research showing, how it might inflict lasting psychological harm and does small to correct behavior. Being from a different era, disciplinary actions were accepted, and we never failed to respect our elders. Discussing this issue with our dad today, we still have and live by those standards set forth by them. Now critics of those studies, they do not account for the prominence of the issues. Punishing a child were misbehaving, and then they were already more likely to suffer troubles later on. No child received paddling in Texas’ where many school boards banned it. Still, coming from a long line of educators indicate that paddling in the principal’s office will never disappear with legislation, due to Texas is a state of entrenched rural values and stress on local control. Statewide bans failed at least several times. None of the bills made it out of the committee, now parents have the opt-out slips, and administrators agree that it bears an impingement. Today, each school receives a study coordinator who calls the parents before a paddling. The person trained on how to explain the disciplinary action to the student and how to administrate the licks with a paddle, on the average of three times. While participating in sports, our coach would discipline the players by making us run two to three miles in full pads. It worked well, since it only happens once, and we learned our lesson. However, children today feel that if a teacher disciplines them even verbally, the parents want to lodge a suit. Being part of both sides from enforcing the laws and defending the laws, has given us a mixed
