A lot of the times when people realize that they have taken on more than they can handle they release the animal outside, into the wild. Notwithstanding humans have been providing domesticated animals with food, water, shelter, and companionship and because of that they are not suited for a life in the wild. They have not acquired the instincts that are required for them to be able to survive. They do not know how to hunt for food or fight off predators. This inexperience often leads to the death of the animal. There is also a track record of people taking in too many animals simultaneously which could affect the welfare of the animal; this has led to the Pet Limit Laws.
