Owning an animal can be fun and help lower our stress level, but what happens when it turns fatal? Many people have a strong passion for animals, sometimes to the point where it becomes their lives. However, some take it a little a far and branch out beyond common domesticated pets. The wildlife society has been around for a very long time, yet a common dispute that has always been present is, how to preserve the different type of species. Whether they should be in a sanctuary or cared for individually, I came across an article that explains one side of this problem. The writer of this article stands for putting endangered species in a sanctuary. In the ‘first paragraph of Slater`s article she states``… people say it’s not only dangerous to bring captive-bred wildlife into the suburbs, but it’s cruel and it ought to be criminal too``. (1) Slater is in the favor of leaving the wild life to the animals without any intervention of humankind.
This is a strong claim because there are stories and other articles that can back the claim up by more research.
Concerning wild animals in captivity there are more than a few places that disagree with this type of lifestyle. . An organization named ``Born Free USA`` was formed to help provide a sense of comfortably for those wild animals rescued from domesticated homes. Many states have already put a ban on owning exotic animals, states on the border where the ocean lays have a complete ban where one cannot own something found in the wild. Fox example, the state of Ohio used to have no ban on animals until an incident occurred in 2011 where, moments before dying a man released his wild collection of animals upon the neighborhood. Slater states `` The state now requires owners of “dangerous exotic animals” to have a permit, to microchip their pets, to establish a relationship with a veterinarian, and to buy insurance.
