Diwali is around the corner and everyone is eager to celebrate irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Diwali is celebrated to acknowledge the victory of good over evil. When one talk about Diwali the first thing goes in mind is holiday, crackers, sweets, diyas and pooja.

It is memorable to celebrate festival with family and friends the traditional way of in discriminatively bursting crackers. But have we ever realized the chaos we are creating to nature, our motherland? Think about it!

As a Hindu I grew up celebrating Diwali and is not here to talk about for or against of festival. I also love celebrating Diwali in some eco-friendly way without harming the environment.

Make arrangement to clear up all the trash the next morning. Wash your hands and feet, and firework material can be toxic and is bad for your health. Wash your hands with cold water and use a hand sanitizer.

The best way to be eco-friendly is you can organize crackers show for few hours in common place where people can see and enjoy the crackers in a same place instead of each doing at their homes and making whole city dusty.

Sweets & Savoring:

Diwali means offering sweets like ladoo, kesar peda, dryfruits, rabdi, watery rasgullas, kachori, samosa, poori with paneer and palak sabji and we as Indian who are fond of sweets end up consuming more fat to have more cholesterol, ending up in acidity, fats, diabetics and increasing chances of heart attack.

Sugar is an inseparable part of sweets prepared on the occasion of Diwali. However, some sweets can be prepared using artificial sweeteners. Have a quick look at the recipes which can be prepared using artificial sweeteners.
