Generally, I have excelled in science within school because it comes naturally through dedication towards studying the subject, and I feel comfortable in the setting that surrounds it. The atmosphere of the lab and being able to work independently in order to research a topic is interesting and dynamic. Research topics are always changing and altering their focus based on the current situation of world events. Science research can vary anywhere form studying epidemics, and what causes them to understanding why hybrid crops are a more profitable option for farmers to grow. This variation captures my attention, thus creating my desire to further investigate the sciences.
I became intrigued by science in high school because of the wide range of study available and flexibility of the subject. There were endless possibilities, but I soon found a favorite: biology. Studying biology would give me the ability to better understand how the human body works, and specifically the genetic code. This Fellows program gains my attention the most because of the opportunity to gain semester long internships abroad. Visiting other countries has always been an interest of mine, so interweaving it with an internship at an accredited company or university will be extremely vital in launching my career. The SRF program would benefit positively from my admittance due to my natural curiosity. I like to explore new ideas, concepts, and enjoy learning about various topics. I will be the first to jump at an opportunity of an interesting topic because learning genuinely excites me. I am flexible in research situations because I work well on a team or alone. This change of setting and topic stimulates me further to search for answers to a tough research
