Staff Acceptable Use Policy Our employees are encouraged to use technology in the classroom. Technology is essential in the development of 21st century life-long learners through creative and collaborative classroom activities. While we want our staff and students to interact and communicate efficiently and effectively with the use of technology, we also want them to be safe, legal, and responsible. This Acceptable Use Policy supports our school’s digital technology vision, applying to all Pleasantville Independent School District (PISD) employees, electronic communication systems, and all devices connected to those networks.

These network devices are subject to review at any time with or without notice, with or without cause, and without permission of any employee, student, or parent/guardian.
• Do not make audio or video recordings of staff or students without their permission.
• Immediately notify appropriate campus and/or department officials of inappropriate technological behavior.
• Employees have the responsibility to educate students regarding appropriate use of technology, including interactions with staff and other students. Additionally, employees are responsible to monitor students’ technological activity for appropriate behavior and inappropriate material.
• A PISD content filter is in place for all network computers, laptops, iPads, and other devices. Inappropriate material, unapproved site access, certain phrases/content, and other topics deemed non-educational, are actively monitored.
Teacher Communication with Students
• Teachers may contact students using district approved apps, websites, or communication devices for school-related purposes
