A problem has been growing across the nation for years as the nation falls behind in the test scores, Eldorado High School recently has also been plagued by problems of dropping test scores. In The Texas Education Agency 2017 Accountability Summary, the only distinct designation earned for high school was in academic achievement in science. The school also missed student progress standards by two points. This is a red flag as the school district is not being commended, let alone passing all standards. In order for Eldorado High School to improve test scores, students should be placed in an environment similar to prison, free of all distractions, and spend their time focused on school.
The first thing Eldorado high school should do to combat dropping test scores is place students in an environment similar to prison. The school should consider anything besides football and other sports a distraction. Everything that takes students out of class should be forbidden with the exception of pep rallies and drug test. Students should not be distracted by young ladies’ shoulders or gentlemen’s facial hair. In prison they don’t allow women to walk around with holes in their jeans or men to grow beards besides religious reasons, why should school be any different? Students should not be allowed to dye their hair unnatural colors, and gentlemen should not be able to grow their hair too long. Students should also not be distracted by communicating with others. Students should not be allowed to use their cellphones at any time on campus, and if caught they should face a fine or time in solitary confinement (DAEP). The school should not allow students to be distracted by eating are drinking; only water should be allowed in a clear water
