I believe one thing that differentiates me from others is my standardized test scores. Now, I am not hinting at the fact that my test scores are outstanding, because they are not. Usually when someone boasts about how good their test scores are the first thing that comes to mind is that this person must be really smart. On the other hand, if I am talking to someone about my test scores that might be lower they perceive me as not being as smart as other students. In addition, this is definitely not the case for every situation, but the way of thinking when it comes to standardized test scores often deal with the level of knowledge one might posses. By now you have probably seen my test scores, which are pretty low. However, my test scores do not define how knowledgable I am. Instead, these tests highlight how unsuccessful I am when taking timed tests. In addition, I am a very hard working individual in school and participate in many educational programs to help better myself for the future. However, that never seems enough and I feel like my test scores hold me back from many opportunities. In addition, I try not to let my scores hold me back so I become involved in many educational programs such as, the National Young Leaders Conference and the National Youth Leadership Forum: Advanced Medical Studies. These programs, along with my coursework, allow me to showcase my abilities to strive in higher level thinking classes even though my scores do not fully represent my success.
