Towards the beginning of the autobiography Malala agrees to write a diary for the BBC that speaks out against the Taliban, when Ayesha’s father, the father of the girl who was going to originally write the diary, forbids her from writing it. The diary is about what life is like under the Taliban’s tyranny. While Ayesha’s family reacts with fear, Malala courageously agrees to write the diary.
