Holes Character Analysis Stanley has changed at his time at Camp Green Lake and his personality too. Stanley has made a friend who we know as Zero, and the reason going to camp is for commiting a crime he did not do. Stanley friendship with Zero changes him because he goes from selfish to selfless. In the begging of the book he was selfish and only thought about himself. “A policeman asked Stanley why he was running. Then he took the shoes from Stanley and made a call on the radio,”.
