Star Wars is an epic space opera film series created by George Lucas, which includes galactic battles, theatrical adventure, as well as chivalric romance. The music, mainly composed by John Williams, gives depth to the storyline and is something that fans of all ages will always remember. The specific Star Wars movie that I have chosen to analyze is Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, which was released on May 25, 1983.
All three of the stories start with the hero in the ordinary world. For the most part the ordinary world in all of the stories is a setting the hero is unpleased with. Katniss does not like the scarcity of food in her district, Ender gets bullied for being so smart, and Luke wants to leave the farm he lives on. All of them are not anyone you would expect to be involved in anything important. The call to adventure in all the stories are relatively similar.
The character, Luke Skywalker, in the film, “Star Wars: A New Hope,” clearly represents the Medieval Hero characteristics. Luke is a good moral character, he follows the code of chivalry, and he does not have a royal birth. The first piece of evidence is Luke follows the codes of chivalry. For example, he serves the liege/lord, which is Princess Leia, in valour and faith. He courageous followed the orders of Princess Leia.
The Goonies and The Hunger Games are similar and different regarding The Hero's Journey such as Test Allies and Enemies, The Mentor, and the Reward Each has a number of key differences and key similarities. Each can demonstrate the hero's journey. The Goonies have the Fratellis as one of their Enemies chasing them down because they don't want them to find the treasure nor want them to tell the cops where they are. In The Hunger Games Katniss has to fight for her life against almost everyone and she has to fight for a very long period of time before she wins the Hunger Games. A key similarity is that they are both basically fighting/trying to get their prize/victory for example Katniss is trying to win The Hunger Games and the Goonies are trying to get the
Reflection: Star Wars – Hero’s Journey Star Wars, one of the most famous films to this day, was written and directed by George Lucas. Star Wars a film that follows the story of Luke Skywalker, a young man from the planet of Tatooine living with his aunt and uncle. But, his life is forever changed when his uncle decides to buy a pair of seemingly normal droids, R2D2 and C3po. Skywalker shortly comes to find that stored inside of R2-D2 is a message from Princess Leia, who is being held hostage by the Galactic Empire, asking for help from Obi-Wan Kenobi. So Luke Skywalker, along with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewy, R2D2 and C3po embark on a mission to rescue the beautiful Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.
Once the hero has received his Call to adventure, like George Lucas’s Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, they must go on to face their first challenge, the threshold guardians, which ultimately challenge their will to take on the burden of the task. For young master Skywalker, the threshold guardians come with guns. Shortly after young Skywalker receives his call to adventure, from R2-D2, the little droid disappears. When Luke finally locates R2, a group of warriors called Tusken Raiders strike at Skywalker, knocking him out. The sand savages scavenge through Luke’s vehicle, until Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives scaring off the savages, saving Luke.
Luke Skywalker- A courageous, orphaned young farm boy who is eager for adventure and for the chance to prove himself a hero. The chief protagonist of Star Wars episodes IV–VI, Luke must learn to control his emotions and desires in order to master the powers of a Jedi Knight, powers that flow from a mystic connection to the Force, an energy field created by life itself. Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker)- A fallen Jedi Knight, now Dark Lord of the Sith and a fearsome evil presence.
The release of the seventh Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was met with much anticipation and of course multiple fan-made theories. Is Kylo Ren a double agent? Did Rey have training in the force, but her memory was wiped? Was it Kylo Ren that saved Rey and sent her to Jakku? The theories are thought-provoking and contain viable evidence.
` In May of 1977, Star Wars: A New Hope was released with overwhelmingly positive reviews and marking a new era in cinema. The writer and director of the film, George Lucas, decided to expand upon the Star Wars universe in 1999 by making Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, with a story that took place before the original film’s story. This movie was made with advanced equipment and cutting-edge CGI (for 1999), nonetheless, the movie was panned by critics and enraged an entire generation of moviegoers. The answer to why this happened lies in the differences between the two films: use of special effects, construction of characters, and complexity of plot. “A special effect is a tool, a means of telling a story.
With over seven billion people on the planet, it is challenging to believe that I am unique. Rather, it 'd be egotistical to claim that I, and I alone, have this one distinctive, singular something to contribute to the Michigan State community. That said, however, I do believe that I have qualities that would further enrich and diversify Michigan State 's campus life. To take from the famous quote from "The Incredibles," if everybody is special, then, effectively, no one is. The question of what would "add to the overall richness of campus" life becomes complicated, considering that.
While in both movies, Hunger Games and Divergent, share similar characteristics of a dystopian genre, they do not take on the same features as each other. This is usually because the structure is rigid and predictable although there can be certain differences. These differences and similarities could be their themes, setting or costumes that are used in the novel or film. In the Hunger Games and Divergent, the theme of rebellion is seen throughout the film.
JK Rowling is well known for “Harry Potter” series and now that “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” has premiered in London, fans cannot wait to step into the magical unknown come Friday in the US. It will be a different fantasy world this time without the familiar Hogwarts and faces of Harry, Hermione and Ron. During the premiere of “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” in Leicester Square, JK Rowling said that at the end of the film, the audience will know where story is heading. The dark theme seemed to outweigh the fun of the movie according to the author. JK Rowling also spoke about Eddie Redmayne who starred as “magizoologist” Newt Scamander.
The movie I chose was "As Good As It Gets" starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt, it's about a man named Melvin, a misanthrope, who struggles with Anxiety and Personality disorders. What mental disorder was illustrated in this film? The main character Melvin, I believe had Antisocial Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Obsessive –Compulsive Personality disorder and Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), although I would add racism/homophobia but I'm not sure if that’s an official "psychological disorder" yet. Did the person meet the accepted criteria for “abnormal” in this portrayal? Melvin showed all the signs for "abnormal" with his obsessions and compulsions he was extremely narcissistic and selfish, but the more Melvin gets to truly know the people around him, he changes, not exactly a dramatic change but just little changes like taking medication for his disorders and engaging with his neighbors.
The Fellowship of the Ring is the first book in “The Lord of the Rings”, a fantasy tale written by J.R.R. Tolkien. In the vast land of Middle Earth, Frodo and company set out on a journey.
