Module 1 –Discussion 1-2 What is your Capstone Topic? My Capstone will be on woman in Leadership position in corporate America. I will discuss the obstacles that some of the woman experience while in leadership position. Want to compare woman in leadership position in corporate America and woman in Leadership in other countries.
CASA stands for court appointed court advocates and is a program that has been created to stand up for children in the foster care system and to help them fight for a safe home ("National Court Appointed). The mission statement for CASA is together with state and local member programs CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the U.S. can be safe, have a permanent home and opportunity to thrive ("National Court Appointed). I really connect with CASA because in the future I would love to either foster, adopt or both. I would love to give a permanent home to a child who has no real place to call home. At the sisterhood retreat we had a CASA advisor come to us talk about her job.
Background The history of the 519 was first established as a community centre for the North Jarvis Community and was used as a space for gay youth in 1976 to conduct a program controlled by the community. Additionally, The 519 became a safe haven for LGBTQ groups during 1982 when Toronto police were conducting bathhouse raids throughout the city. During the 80’s and 90 's, the 519 opened a support group for gay people of colour and requesting benefits to same-sex spouses. The 519 has partnered with many organizations throughout the years such as Toronto District School Board to disclose positive knowledge about children with queer parents, also with the city of Toronto to make sure long-term care homes are LGBTQ friendly.

The organization, which I decided to volunteer two hours of my day to, was Cumac. Cumac is located in Paterson, New Jersey and they work to serve the people in the counties of Passaic, Paterson, and Northern New Jersey. They work with a staff of 21 and volunteers from all over to help people in need with food and supplies they would need to survive. Their mission statement is: “CUMAC feeds people and changes lives. It works to alleviate hunger and its root causes for those in need in Paterson, Passaic County, and northern New Jersey.”
Evaluate how ASU is positioning itself through its vision and mission. The ASU’s vision and mission statement are a very powerful. These two statements positioning ASU as a public research university that use a student-centric model to support innovation and creativity. ASU’s vision is to lead their people to be success in life and understanding the value of the community.

The SOA/DOC has created a very Hazardous Condition within its facilities that increase the risks of serious injury and death to both inmates and staff. As a prospective member of the National Honor Society, I feel that I would be a good fit for National Honor Society because of my willingness to do service for our community and because of my willingness to help others. In the beginning of my freshman year I aspired to be a part of such a great organization and I am so thrilled with the possibility of being a future member. It would be an honor and a privilege to be in National Honor Society and I would take my duties and tasks very seriously. I feel that MCC’s National Honor Society is a superior group of students who will help motivate me by portraying high quality character and a good academically humble backdrop for the rest of my highschool career. I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.

The reason I would like to be part of the FBI Teen Academy is to better understand the job of an FBI agent’s job and other jobs offered by the FBI.In addition my sister has been in the teen academy and now she highly recommends the FBI as a job. Furthermore I would like to join because I find the FBI highly interesting. In addition if I was to be accepted I hope I can learn more about the FBI and jobs offered by the FBI. Moreover I would like to be in this program because I think it would be fun yet educational for me. Moreover I think that the teen academy can show me more job options for the future.
I am Densia Wray, a sophomore at City College majoring in Political Science and possibly Public Relations or minoring in Journalism. My decision to pursue these majors came after thoroughly enjoying my Intro to Media Communications and Intro to Political Science classes, as well as my desire to create local and societal change. Although it took a while for me to make this decision, once I started listening to what I really wanted and not what I thought was wanted from me I realized what I really want to do with my life. Ever since my first real introduction to the world and its realities in my high school English classes I knew that my purpose was not to conform to what society wants from me but to challenge society to change. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
