1605 Words7 Pages

Over the course of my life I have encountered adults heading out to work every morning, dressed in business attire with coffee in their hands. It reminds me of the movies that take place in the big cities like New York. I have been to New York and Chicago and I always notice citizens in the buildings dressed up in business clothes. I have always thought of pursuing a career in the business field. I believe it would fit my personality tremendously. Human Resource Managers recruit employees, give advice, and resolve grievances. I enjoy organizing, and leading others. Having this job will allow me to make personal connections with employees: I am a very social, outgoing, and trustworthy person. Rase encouraged our class to go to the College Board website. After exploring various colleges, the college I chose most to research about Human Resources is Grand Valley State. In researching this college, I found in order to have the opportunity to pursue this career I need to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree. The in-state tuition for Grand Valley college is $11,994; That’s too much money! College is crazy expensive, but I strongly desire to live away and experience the college life. Grand Valley requires previous classes before a student can apply. A student needs four years of English, including a composition class, three years of science, two years have to be laboratory science, three years of math, three years of social studies, and lastly two years of World Language. Competition between students to attend this campus is high. It’s expected that students have a SAT score of 1050-1220, and ACT of 21-26 on average. This class explains how business actually operates, emphasizes on regulation of business, employment, and business organization. While taking classes on campus, the university offers multiple resources a student can …show more content…

Human resource managers plan, coordinate, and organize workforce to best use the employees talents and gifts. They also handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing dispute procedures. A third task they attend to is coordinating and supervising the work of specialists and support staff. I also found that in some companies, some of the managers have to work worldwide, which requires traveling. About one in three human resources managers worked more than forty hours per week. To be able to obtain this career I need to graduate with a bachelor's degree and have related work experience previously. Human resources managers starting salaries are most likely around $65K. Overtime Human Resource Managers can make up to $110K. That is definitely a salary to provide for my basic necessities and extra for luxury items and activities I desire to have. Depending on how long I committed to this field I could potentially make up to $198K. This job is extremely common. In 2016, 136,000 people worked in this career. Human Resources is expected to grow by 9% in 2024 and in this field there will be 12,300 additional jobs. I also found out a similar job to Human Resource Management is Administrative Service Manager; They basically tackle the same
