Title Mahatma Gandhi once said, “ Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory”. This is a quote that anyone can apply to everyday things such as school or a job. As a high school student, I have come to realize that not everything in my life is going to go in my favor and that I should only worry about things that I can control. The parts of my life that I can apply this to are school, tennis, and volunteering. I believe that genuine leadership is based on results and an example of this is the President of the United States. The President of the United States is one of the most scrutinized people on the planet and this is because people expect results from voting for this person. Presidents are commonly judged by the first one hundred days of their presidency. In my case, I am not the President of the United States, but I am a result-oriented person. For example, I sometimes work with my tennis coach, at my tennis club, in one of the youth programs at the club. My goal when working with younger players is to make sure they have fun while learning and progressing at the game of tennis. If this goal is achieved, that makes me feel like I have done a full days work. For example, I volunteer at House of Bread in downtown Dayton and it is not the most lavish volunteering position, but it is rewarding to see how that I am a part of something that gives, those less fortunate than myself, a warm meal and that I can affect the life of someone that I have never met before.
